The Milli Majlis (National Assembly) has approved the appointment of new judges to the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the matter was discussed and voted upon during today's plenary session of the parliament.
Under the approved draft, Sanan Mammad oglu Garayev has been relieved of his duties as a judge of the Supreme Court of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan. Additionally, Ilkin Gismat oglu Abdullayev, previously the chairman of the Khankendi City Court, has been transferred and appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan.
The Supreme Court of Azerbaijan serves as the highest judicial body in civil, criminal, administrative, and other cases. The appointment of experienced judges from regional courts, including Nakhchivan and Khankendi, is part of ongoing judicial reforms aimed at strengthening the country's legal system and ensuring the efficient administration of justice across all territories of Azerbaijan.
