US President Donald Trump has announced that he will pay an official visit to the People's Republic of China in April of this year.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that US President Donald Trump shared this information during a conversation with journalists aboard Air Force One while returning to Washington from the World Economic Forum held in Davos.
The US President further noted that Chinese President Xi Jinping is also scheduled to pay an official visit to the United States by the end of the year. "I will go to China in April, and Xi Jinping will come to the US at the end of the year. I look forward to meeting with Chinese leader Xi," Donald Trump stated.
Describing Xi Jinping as a "great person," US President Donald Trump emphasized that while US-China relations had been strained in the past, bilateral ties have now significantly improved. According to the President, one concrete indicator of the normalization of relations is China's large-scale import of agricultural products from the US, particularly soybeans. "They are buying a lot of soybeans. This makes American farmers happy and pleases me as well," he added.
The upcoming high-level exchange follows discussions at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, an annual gathering of global political and business leaders. The forum serves as a critical platform for addressing international trade dynamics and geopolitical stability. Diplomatic engagements between Washington and Beijing remain a focal point of global economic policy, as both nations seek to navigate trade agreements and strengthen bilateral cooperation in the current global landscape.
