A B-52 Stratofortress strategic bomber has crashed in the United States, resulting in the deaths of all eight crew members on board.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, which cited reports from CNN and the Edwards Air Force Base, the incident occurred in the state of North Dakota.

Emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to the crash site to secure the area and initiate recovery operations. The Pentagon has launched a formal investigation to determine the cause of the crash, and the identities of the victims are currently being processed for notification.

The B-52 Stratofortress, first introduced in 1955, remains one of the oldest and most iconic aircraft in the United States Air Force inventory. Designed as a long-range, heavy bomber, it is capable of carrying a diverse payload, including nuclear weapons and cruise missiles, typically operated by a crew of five, though configurations can vary during specific missions.

The B-52H variant currently in service remains a cornerstone of the US Air Force's strategic capabilities, with 76 units currently active in the fleet. These aircraft have historically been deployed in various global theaters, including missions during periods of heightened tensions between the United States and Iran.
