The United Arab Emirates air defense systems have intercepted six ballistic missiles and nine unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the past 24 hours, according to official military sources.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry of Defense of the UAE issued a statement confirming the successful neutralization of the threats. "UAE air defense systems intercepted six ballistic missiles and nine drones launched from Iran on March 27," the ministry stated in its official release. This follows a previous 24-hour period during which the UAE military successfully intercepted 15 ballistic missiles and 11 UAVs.
Since the escalation of regional tensions in the Middle East began on February 28, the UAE's air defense network has demonstrated significant operational capacity. To date, the systems have reportedly intercepted a total of 378 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,835 drones. These defensive operations highlight the ongoing security challenges in the Persian Gulf region and the critical role of advanced missile defense systems in protecting national infrastructure and civilian populations from transboundary aerial threats.
