Turkey's Ministry of Trade has announced that chicken meat exports from the country will be suspended starting tomorrow.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this decision was made following a price hike of approximately 15 percent by producers and sellers ahead of the month of Ramadan.

In an official statement, the Ministry noted that the primary objective of the restriction is to ensure product abundance in the domestic market and prevent artificial price increases. The government body emphasized that market processes are being closely monitored to protect consumer interests.

This measure is specifically designed to meet the population's food demand at more affordable prices during Ramadan, a period typically characterized by increased consumption. Turkey, a major regional exporter of poultry, frequently utilizes export regulations as a tool to manage domestic food inflation and ensure food security during high-demand seasons.
