Paşinyan: Türkiyə ixrac qaydalarını dəyişir

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced that Turkey will change its regulations regarding the official documentation of goods exported to Armenia, marking a shift in bilateral trade procedures.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Armenian media reports, Pashinyan stated that previously, Turkish goods could not be officially documented for direct shipment to Armenia. As a result, products were typically sent to third countries before being re-routed to their final destination. "There are many Turkish-made goods in Armenia, and this was an additional process: these goods were taken to another country, processed, and then supplied to Armenia," Pashinyan explained. He noted that Turkey will now allow Armenia to be listed as the direct country of delivery in official trade documents.

This development occurs within the broader context of regional efforts to normalize economic and diplomatic ties. While the land border between Turkey and Armenia has remained largely closed since the 1990s, recent years have seen a gradual increase in dialogue, including the commencement of direct air cargo trade in early 2023. Azerbaijan has frequently expressed its support for the opening of regional transport communications and the normalization of ties based on mutual recognition of sovereignty and territorial integrity, viewing such steps as essential for long-term stability in the South Caucasus.
