President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has proposed intensifying the activities of the Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan Transport, Transit, and Logistics Commission. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the proposal was made during an expanded meeting with President Ilham Aliyev as part of the Turkmen leader's visit to Azerbaijan.

Highlighting the transport and transit sector as a strategic pillar of bilateral cooperation, President Berdimuhamedov noted that the favorable geographical locations of both Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan provide significant advantages for the development of international transport corridors.

President Berdimuhamedov cited the Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey transport corridor as a successful example of regional cooperation. He further emphasized that both nations support the initiative to establish a Caspian Sea-Black Sea transport corridor, following the Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania route.

The Turkmen leader underscored that connecting the Caspian and Black Sea regions creates substantial opportunities for economic, trade, and investment collaboration. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to enhance the Middle Corridor, a vital trade route connecting Asia and Europe via the South Caucasus, which has gained increasing geopolitical and economic importance in recent years as countries seek to diversify supply chains and improve regional connectivity.
