Türkiye has finalized comprehensive security and organizational preparations for the 36th NATO Summit, which is scheduled to take place on July 7-8. The event is set to host heads of state and government from all 32 NATO member nations, alongside numerous invited leaders, approximately 100 ministers, high-level diplomats, and representatives from international organizations.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, approximately 3,000 media representatives from around the world have been accredited to cover the summit. To ensure the security of the event, a total of 56,288 law enforcement officers have been deployed, comprising 48,841 police officers and 7,447 gendarmerie personnel. Furthermore, a specialized team of 639 cybersecurity experts will operate on a 24/7 basis to safeguard the digital infrastructure of the summit.

The Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidential Administration has established a dedicated task force to coordinate media and public diplomacy activities. A media team of 850 personnel, including staff from TRT, will facilitate international coverage. TRT is prepared to broadcast the summit live using 80 cameras across 26 different locations, with a media center equipped with 1,600 workstations and nearly 100 live broadcast points.

The summit sessions will be held in a closed format, with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte expected to deliver a brief statement only during the opening phase. Parallel to the main summit, several side programs are planned, including a meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly at the Dolmabahçe Palace, the “NATO Ankara Summit Dialogues” panels, and various expert meetings. Extensive information and communication campaigns are also scheduled to take place across Ankara.

NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, remains the world's premier collective security alliance. Summits of this magnitude serve as critical platforms for member states to align on strategic defense policies, address emerging geopolitical threats, and reaffirm their commitment to the principle of collective defense under Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty.
