Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz is scheduled to visit Armenia next week to represent Turkey at the 8th European Political Community (EPC) summit. The event, set to take place in Yerevan on May 4, marks a historic diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Anadolu Agency, this visit will be the first of its kind at such a high level from Turkey to Armenia. The discussions are expected to touch upon regional stability and the ongoing normalization efforts between the two neighboring countries.
The European Political Community is a platform for political and strategic discussions about the future of Europe, established in 2022. This summit in Yerevan comes at a time when Azerbaijan and Armenia are engaged in peace negotiations to finalize a border delimitation process and establish lasting peace in the South Caucasus. Turkey has consistently expressed its support for the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, emphasizing that the normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations is closely linked to the progress made between Baku and Yerevan.
