Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is set to pay a working visit to Russia next week, according to official statements from Moscow.
As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the visit was confirmed by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova during a press briefing.
According to the spokesperson, Fidan’s visit to Moscow is scheduled to take place from June 15 to 17. "Talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, as well as other bilateral contacts, are planned," Zakharova noted.
This visit comes amid ongoing efforts by Ankara to maintain a balanced diplomatic stance in the region. Turkey, a NATO member, has frequently acted as a mediator in international conflicts, leveraging its unique geopolitical position to facilitate dialogue between Russia and other global actors. Diplomatic observers suggest that the discussions will likely focus on regional security, trade cooperation, and the current state of bilateral relations between Ankara and Moscow.
