Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is set to pay an official visit to Indonesia tomorrow.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, which cited the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions will focus on strengthening political, economic, and strategic cooperation between the two nations.

The visit aims to advance bilateral relations based on the political will established by the leadership of both countries. Minister Fidan is expected to emphasize the importance of strengthening partnerships in infrastructure, energy, transport, digitalization, artificial intelligence, high technology, and the halal food sector, with the ultimate goal of increasing bilateral trade volume to $10 billion. Additionally, the agenda will cover the progress of ongoing defense industry projects and future collaboration opportunities.

Regional and international issues will also feature prominently in the talks. The parties are expected to exchange views on the situation in Gaza, efforts to ensure a just and lasting peace in Palestine, and Israel's activities in the region, including the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Lebanon. Furthermore, discussions will address the situation in Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, the war in Ukraine, recent developments in Somalia, Sudan, and Libya, as well as security matters in the Asia-Pacific region. The meetings will also review cooperation within international platforms such as the UN, G20, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, ASEAN, MIKTA, and D-8.
