US President Donald Trump has ordered the public release of classified documents concerning potential foreign interference in the US election process.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Trump stated that Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea possess the capability to influence US election infrastructure. He asserted that the currently classified information reveals significant risks regarding election security.

President Trump also accused China of illegally obtaining the personal data of 220 million American voters, alleging that Beijing attempted to influence the 2018 midterm elections as well as the 2020 presidential election. Furthermore, he noted that approximately 278,000 individuals registered to vote in federal elections were identified as non-US citizens. Trump claimed this figure could be higher and demanded that those responsible be held accountable.

The issue of foreign interference in US elections has been a subject of intense political debate in Washington for years. Intelligence agencies and various government bodies have frequently investigated claims regarding cyber activities and disinformation campaigns aimed at undermining the integrity of the American democratic process. The declassification of these documents is expected to fuel further discussions on national security and electoral reform within the United States.
