Tramp: Aİ-dən avtomobil idxalına görə rüsumlar 25 % artırılacaq

US President Donald Trump has announced that tariffs on cars and trucks imported from the European Union (EU) will be increased to 25% starting next week. The decision aims to address trade imbalances and ensure compliance with existing international trade commitments.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the president shared the announcement on his Truth Social platform. US President Donald Trump accused the EU of failing to meet its obligations under a fully negotiated trade deal. "I am pleased to announce this news: next week I will increase tariffs on cars and trucks imported from the EU to the US because the union is not complying with a fully agreed trade deal. Tariffs will be increased up to 25%," he stated. He further emphasized that vehicles manufactured within the United States would not be subject to these duties.

US President Donald Trump also highlighted a significant surge in domestic manufacturing, noting that over $100 billion is currently being invested in the construction of new automotive plants across the country. He described this as a record in the history of the industry, asserting that these facilities, staffed by American workers, would soon begin operations. This move aligns with the administration's broader economic policy, which seeks to protect domestic industries and reduce trade deficits with major global partners. Historically, trade relations between Washington and Brussels have faced various challenges regarding industrial subsidies and market access, with the automotive sector being a primary focal point of negotiations.
