White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has announced that US President Donald Trump intends to reach a diplomatic agreement with Iran in the coming days.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the White House released a video of the press briefing detailing the administration's current stance on Tehran. During the session, Leavitt was questioned regarding the 10-day ultimatum previously issued by US President Donald Trump, which reportedly sets April 6 as the deadline for reaching a consensus.

"He wants to get a deal done in the next 10 days. The clock is ticking. There are a few days left... We will see what happens after that period," the Press Secretary stated. When asked about the potential deployment of additional US forces to the Middle East, Leavitt noted that the President is focused on achieving the objectives of "Operation Epic Fury," adding that the Pentagon is developing a wide range of options for the Commander-in-Chief.

The announcement follows a statement made by US President Donald Trump on the Truth Social platform on March 30, where he claimed the United States is engaged in serious negotiations with a "new, more reasonable regime" and that "great progress is being made." However, he warned that if an agreement is not reached soon and the Strait of Hormuz is not kept open, Iran's energy infrastructure could become a target for military action.

This diplomatic pressure comes amid heightened tensions in the region, as the US administration seeks to redefine its security architecture in the Middle East. Operation Epic Fury represents a strategic shift in Washington's approach toward Tehran, combining rigorous economic and military deterrence with a narrow window for diplomatic resolution. The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical global maritime chokepoint, through which approximately one-fifth of the world's oil consumption passes daily, making its stability a priority for international energy security.
