Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received an official invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the Gaza Peace Council.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the announcement was made by Ruslan Zheldibay, assistant and press secretary to the Kazakh leader. According to the spokesperson, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was among the first world leaders to be formally invited to join the Council and for Kazakhstan to serve as a founding member of the initiative.
In a response letter addressed to US President Donald Trump, the Kazakh head of state expressed his sincere gratitude and confirmed his agreement to join the newly established organization. Zheldibay added that Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan's commitment to contributing to the achievement of lasting peace in the Middle East, strengthening interstate trust, and bolstering global stability.
The establishment of the Gaza Peace Council comes amid intensified international efforts to secure a long-term resolution to the conflict in the Middle East. Kazakhstan has historically maintained a balanced foreign policy, often acting as a mediator in international disputes and hosting high-level diplomatic talks, such as the Astana process. This invitation underscores the growing role of Central Asian nations in global security frameworks and the strategic importance of the region in international diplomacy under the leadership of US President Donald Trump.
