Despite a recent string of unsuccessful results, Sumgait FC head coach Sasa Ilic will remain with the team until the expiration of his current contract.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports via AZERTAC that Zaur Khudiyev, the press secretary for the "city of youth" representative, confirmed the club's decision regarding the Serbian specialist's future.
According to Khudiyev, the club management has not held any meetings regarding a potential resignation or termination. "No such meeting is planned. He is currently participating in training sessions with the team. He will continue his activities and remain with the club at least until the end of his contract, which runs until July of this year," the spokesperson stated.
Sumgait FC currently occupies the 7th position in the Azerbaijan Premier League standings with 32 points. The club, based in Sumgait, is one of the prominent football organizations in Azerbaijan, known for its focus on developing local talent. The Azerbaijan Premier League remains the top-tier professional football division in the country, featuring intense competition for European qualification spots.
