The United States has significantly increased its military presence in the Middle East, raising the total number of troops in the region to approximately 50,000 amid escalating tensions with Iran. Since February, Washington has deployed an additional 10,000 personnel to various bases across the region to bolster its strategic positioning.

According to reports from the New York Times, cited by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the American military contingent was previously maintained at around 40,000 soldiers stationed across Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain. Currently, the total number of US personnel has surpassed the 50,000 mark, with all units reportedly placed on full combat readiness. The report suggests that the White House, under US President Donald Trump, is signaling a heightened state of preparedness, though messages regarding potential military operations against Tehran remain complex.

The Middle East remains a focal point of US foreign policy, with Washington maintaining a network of strategic bases to ensure regional stability and protect international energy corridors. This recent buildup follows a period of increased diplomatic and military friction between Washington and Tehran. Historically, the US military presence in the Persian Gulf and surrounding nations has served as a deterrent against regional threats, while Azerbaijan has consistently advocated for peaceful resolutions to regional conflicts and the preservation of international security frameworks.
