US House Speaker Mike Johnson has stated that the United States is not engaged in a war with Iran, dismissing concerns over potential military escalations in the region.

Operative Information Center-OMM, citing "The Hill," reports that Johnson addressed the current state of relations between Washington and Tehran during a recent briefing. He emphasized that active military operations are not anticipated and that the current focus remains on diplomatic channels.

"I do not think there will be active military bombing, firing, or anything of that nature. We are currently trying to mediate the peace process," Johnson said. When questioned about the 60-day window during which US President Donald Trump could conduct military operations without prior Congressional approval, the Speaker clarified the administration's stance, stating, "We are not in a state of war."

These remarks come at a time of significant geopolitical shifts in the Middle East, where the United States maintains a complex security architecture. The discussion regarding the War Powers Resolution and the President's authority to deploy forces remains a critical element of US legislative oversight. For Azerbaijan, which maintains a balanced foreign policy and promotes regional stability, such developments in the US-Iran dynamic are closely monitored due to their potential impact on broader Eurasian security and energy corridors.
