Speaker of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for an official visit.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing information released by the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties.
At Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, Speaker Gafarova was welcomed by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples' Representatives of Ethiopia, Lomi Bedo, and State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye.
During the visit, Speaker Gafarova is scheduled to hold a series of high-level meetings with Ethiopian government officials. The discussions are expected to focus on deepening Azerbaijan-Ethiopia relations, enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation, and exploring new avenues for collaboration across various sectors.
Azerbaijan and Ethiopia have been actively working to expand their diplomatic and economic ties in recent years. Such high-level parliamentary visits play a crucial role in fostering mutual understanding and establishing legal frameworks for cooperation between the two nations, contributing to the broader development of bilateral relations within the international arena.
