Slovak President Peter Pellegrini, who is currently on an official visit to Azerbaijan, visited the Alley of Martyrs in Baku on July 15.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the distinguished guest paid tribute to the memory of the heroic sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. President Pellegrini laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.

Following the ceremony, the Slovak President viewed the panoramic view of the Azerbaijani capital. During the visit, he was briefed on the history of the Alley of Martyrs, its profound significance in the national memory of the Azerbaijani people, and the ongoing urban development and reconstruction projects currently transforming Baku.

The Alley of Martyrs serves as a solemn memorial complex dedicated to those who perished during the tragic events of Black January in 1990 and the subsequent war for the liberation of Azerbaijan's territories. It remains a site of national pride and a key destination for foreign dignitaries visiting the country to pay their respects to the nation's history.
