Xi Jinping meets Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif in Beijing

Chinese President Xi Jinping has received Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Beijing to discuss bilateral relations and regional cooperation.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media reports, prior to his meeting with President Xi, the Pakistani Prime Minister held high-level talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang. During the discussions, Beijing expressed its readiness to work closely with Pakistan to contribute positively to the swift restoration of peace and stability in the Middle East. It was noted that Pakistan is actively taking new steps to bring conflicting parties to the negotiating table.

The meeting underscores the deep strategic partnership between China and Pakistan, which is anchored by the multi-billion-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). As a flagship project of Beijing's Belt and Road Initiative, CPEC plays a pivotal role in regional connectivity, infrastructure development, and economic cooperation between the two allied nations.
