Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory letter to President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Independence Day, expressing his warmest wishes to the Azerbaijani leader and people.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the letter highlights the deep strategic partnership between the two nations. "China and Azerbaijan are comprehensive strategic partners. Under our joint planning and leadership, China-Azerbaijan relations have risen to a new level, and cooperation in various fields has yielded great results," the Chinese President stated in his message, adding his readiness to work together to further strengthen bilateral ties for the benefit of both nations.
Azerbaijan celebrates its Independence Day on May 28, commemorating the founding of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918, the first secular democratic republic in the Muslim world. In recent years, Baku and Beijing have significantly expanded their bilateral cooperation, particularly in transit, logistics, and economic initiatives within the framework of the Middle Corridor and China's Belt and Road Initiative.
