The ministries of internal affairs of Azerbaijan and Latvia are set to strengthen bilateral cooperation under a newly approved agreement.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree approving the "Agreement on Cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Latvia."
Under the decree, the agreement, which was signed in Baku on April 22 of this year, has been officially approved. Following its entry into force, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan will ensure the implementation of its provisions, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will send a notification to the Government of Latvia confirming the completion of the necessary domestic procedures.
Bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia have been steadily developing across various sectors, including political, economic, and security cooperation. Both nations, having established diplomatic relations in 1994, frequently engage in high-level dialogues to strengthen partnership frameworks, security cooperation, and law enforcement exchange programs.
