President Ilham Aliyev has signed an executive order conferring higher special ranks on several high-ranking officials of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that under the presidential decree, the Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Shahin Soltan oglu Baghirov, has been promoted to the higher special rank of colonel-general of the customs service.
The decree also conferred the higher special rank of major-general of the customs service to the following officials: Fuad Elkhan oglu Mammadov, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee; Fuad Mikayil oglu Aslanov, Head of the Main Department for Digital Management; and Elmir Bahadur oglu Ramazanov, Head of the Baku Main Customs Department.
The State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan is a central executive body responsible for implementing state policy in the field of customs, ensuring the economic sovereignty and security of the country. These promotions are traditionally awarded in recognition of distinguished service in protecting Azerbaijan's borders and regulating international trade. In recent years, the committee has undergone significant modernization, focusing on digital transformation and the simplification of transit procedures to enhance Azerbaijan's role as a regional logistics hub.
