Serbia and the United States are preparing to launch a strategic dialogue, marking a significant milestone in bilateral relations.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric announced the development.
The Minister stated that a decision was reached in Washington to initiate the strategic dialogue between Serbia and the United States, with the inaugural meeting scheduled for July 17.
Minister Djuric emphasized that this marks the first time in history that Serbia and the United States are elevating their relations to the level of a strategic partnership:
"This means that the United States and the administration of US President Donald Trump are sending a strong message not only to Serbia, our government, and our people, but also to American institutions that Serbia is accepted as a partner and a friendly country. This is one of the most important achievements for Serbia, as we have been working on this for many years."
The establishment of this strategic dialogue represents a pivotal shift in diplomatic engagement between Belgrade and Washington. Historically, relations between the two nations have been complex, often influenced by regional dynamics in the Balkans. By formalizing this partnership, both countries aim to foster deeper cooperation on political, economic, and security matters, signaling a renewed commitment to stability and mutual development in the region under the current US administration.
