The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has carried out a drone strike against the “Prima” tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing “Tasnim”, reports that the IRGC Public Relations Department released an official statement regarding the incident. According to the report, the tanker was struck shortly after a warning was issued by the IRGC earlier this morning.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most vital maritime passages, serving as a strategic chokepoint through which approximately one-fifth of the world's oil consumption passes. Located between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, the waterway is frequently a focal point for regional geopolitical tensions. This latest incident underscores the ongoing security challenges facing international shipping and energy transit in the Middle East.
