Sadır Japarov: Türkoloji Qurultay Türk dünyasını birləşdirir

One hundred years ago, the foundation for the intellectual revival of the Turkic world was laid in Baku under the slogan of unity in language, thought, and action.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, this was stated in an address by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to the participants of the "Turkic World Week," which is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkology Congress.

Sadyr Japarov recalled that despite the complex political circumstances of the time, the Congress facilitated extensive discussions on Turkic languages, terminology, orthography, and the transition from the Arabic script to the Latin alphabet.

"This was undoubtedly of historical significance in terms of brotherhood and its further strengthening. The decisions adopted at the Congress contributed to the integration of Turkic peoples into the global community. The legacy of the First Turkology Congress remains relevant today and serves as an important guide for the development of scientific, cultural, humanitarian, and strategic cooperation among Turkic peoples," the President noted.

The First Turkology Congress, held in Baku in 1926, remains a landmark event in the history of Turkic studies. It brought together leading scholars and intellectuals from across the Turkic world to standardize languages and promote cultural unity. Today, the legacy of this event continues to influence the activities of the Organization of Turkic States, which seeks to deepen integration and cooperation among member nations in the modern era.
