Russian Ambassador to Caracas Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov has stated that the detained Nicolas Maduro will eventually return to Venezuela.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the diplomat made these remarks during an interview with Russian state television. The ambassador noted that participants in rallies and demonstrations supporting Maduro remain convinced that his return to the country is a realistic possibility. "It seems to me that this is possible," Melik-Bagdasarov emphasized during the broadcast.
The diplomat further commented on the fluid nature of global affairs, suggesting that political landscapes are subject to constant change. "Of course, something will happen. Nothing is permanent in this world," he stated, adding that the Venezuelan people view the charges brought against Nicolas Maduro as fabricated. "It is clear that President Maduro is not guilty of the matters he is accused of, and the people believe this. They believe that justice will prevail. Whether this happens through a decision of American justice, a political resolution, or another mechanism is merely a matter of form," the ambassador concluded.
The political situation in Venezuela has remained a focal point of international concern following years of economic instability and contested leadership. Russia has historically maintained strong diplomatic and economic ties with Caracas, frequently acting as a key ally to the Maduro administration on the global stage. These statements come amid ongoing geopolitical shifts and reflect Moscow's continued support for the political legacy of the Venezuelan leader within the framework of international relations.
