Azerbaijan's Minister of Health Teymur Musayev and the senior leadership of the ministry have visited the Alley of Honor in Baku to pay tribute to the memory of the prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, Academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the ministry officials laid bouquets of flowers at the graves of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the distinguished scientist Zarifa Aliyeva, honoring her memory on the 103rd anniversary of her birth. During the visit, flowers were also placed on the graves of the eminent statesman and public figure Aziz Aliyev, as well as the talented physician Tamerlan Aliyev.

Academician Zarifa Aliyeva was a world-renowned scholar whose research significantly advanced the field of ophthalmology, particularly in the prevention and treatment of eye diseases such as trachoma. Her scientific legacy remains a cornerstone of medical education in Azerbaijan, and the National Center of Ophthalmology in Baku is named in her honor. The Alley of Honor, where the ceremony took place, is a public cemetery and memorial in the capital dedicated to the most distinguished figures in Azerbaijan's history, including political leaders, scientists, and cultural icons.
