Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder of the IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva, along with Arzu Aliyeva, have visited the "ABAD" Ceramics and Applied Arts Center located within the "Yukhari Bash" National Historical-Architectural Reserve in Sheki.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the primary objective of the center is to preserve the ancient ceramic heritage of Azerbaijan, particularly the Sheki region, and to ensure the transmission of these artistic traditions to future generations. The facility also aims to contribute to the international promotion of the country's cultural heritage as an integral part of its national identity.
During the visit, it was emphasized that the center provides favorable production conditions for local artisans, supporting the development of their creative activities and facilitating their access to broader markets. Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva closely observed the work of the "ABAD" ceramic artists and participated in the production process alongside the craftsmen. The artisans noted that several ceramic samples were inspired by the paintings of Leyla Aliyeva. Expressing her gratitude for the attention shown to her work, Leyla Aliyeva praised the efforts to protect national art traditions and wished the team continued success.
The ABAD (Easy Support to Family Business) initiative, which operates under the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations, plays a vital role in Azerbaijan's regional development. By establishing specialized centers like the one in Sheki, the project helps revitalize traditional crafts, supports small-scale family businesses, and promotes the unique cultural landscape of Azerbaijan to a global audience. Sheki, known for its rich history and architectural significance, remains a key hub for these preservation efforts.
