Iran has officially denied allegations regarding a drone attack targeting the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi addressed the claims during an interview with Azerbaijan's AnewZ television channel. "We do not attack our neighboring countries. I am hearing about this incident from you for the first time. I can only provide a definitive answer after investigating this information and its source," the official stated.

The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is an exclave of Azerbaijan, bordering Iran, Armenia, and Türkiye. Maintaining security along these borders remains a priority for the Republic of Azerbaijan. In recent years, Azerbaijan has significantly modernized its border defense infrastructure and surveillance capabilities to monitor any potential threats or unauthorized aerial activities in the region. This incident comes amid a broader regional focus on maintaining stability and diplomatic communication between Baku and Tehran.
