The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has toughened its stance regarding the country's nuclear program and enriched uranium reserves, ruling out any possibility of transferring these assets to foreign nations.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the nation's enriched uranium is a sovereign achievement and will not be reduced or moved outside the country's borders. Baghaei emphasized that "our land is as sacred as our uranium," asserting that the transfer of reserves to the United States or any other country has never been a subject of discussion in any negotiation phase. The spokesperson also rejected proposals regarding the dilution of uranium, describing the nuclear program as a product of long-term domestic scientific efforts that Tehran does not intend to abandon.
The statement comes at a time of heightened diplomatic sensitivity regarding Iran's nuclear capabilities and its compliance with international monitoring standards. Since the shifts in global diplomacy and the stance maintained by US President Donald Trump, the future of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has faced significant challenges. Iran continues to maintain that its nuclear activities are intended for peaceful purposes, including energy production and medical research, while regional and international stakeholders remain focused on the technical limits of Tehran's enrichment processes and their implications for Middle Eastern security.
