Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has extended his congratulations to Azerbaijan on the occasion of the National Salvation Day.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Turkish leader shared a congratulatory message on his official "X" account.

"I sincerely congratulate the National Salvation Day of dear Azerbaijan on June 15. I convey the greetings and love of Turkey to all our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters, with whom we share the spirit of 'one nation, two states' and a single heart," the statement read.

National Salvation Day, celebrated annually on June 15, marks a pivotal moment in Azerbaijan's modern history. On this day in 1993, National Leader Heydar Aliyev returned to political power at the request of the people, effectively ending the political instability and civil unrest that threatened the country's sovereignty following the collapse of the Soviet Union. This date is widely regarded as the beginning of Azerbaijan's path toward stability, sustainable development, and the strengthening of its statehood.
