Weather conditions in Azerbaijan are expected to remain primarily rainless on January 24, according to the latest forecast. The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the National Hydrometeorological Service has issued a statement regarding the upcoming atmospheric conditions across the country.
In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the weather will be changeably cloudy and occasionally gloomy, but mostly dry. However, there is a possibility of short-term drizzle in some areas during the night from January 23 to January 24. A north-west wind is expected to prevail throughout the day. Temperatures in the capital will range from 1–3°C at night to 5–10°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure will rise from 759 mm Hg to 764 mm Hg, with relative humidity staying between 80–85% at night and 65–70% during the day.
In the regions of Azerbaijan, the weather is also projected to be mostly rainless, though fog may be observed in various locations. A moderate west wind will blow across the provinces. Temperatures in the lowlands will fluctuate between 0–5°C of frost at night and 5–9°C of heat during the day. In mountainous areas, colder conditions will persist, with temperatures reaching 5–10°C of frost at night and 0–5°C of frost during the day. Due to the freezing temperatures, icing is expected on some roads during the night and morning hours.
The National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan regularly monitors atmospheric changes to provide accurate forecasts for the public and transport sectors. Such stable but cold winter conditions are typical for the Caspian region during late January, often requiring increased caution for drivers in mountainous terrain due to potential ice on the roads.
