President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing international media reports, the leaders discussed recent developments in the Middle East and ongoing efforts to address regional instability.
During the call, the two leaders also addressed various aspects of bilateral cooperation and explored avenues to further strengthen ties in the mutual interest of both nations.
The United Arab Emirates and the United States maintain a strategic partnership characterized by extensive cooperation in defense, security, and economic sectors. The UAE, a key US ally in the Gulf region, frequently engages in high-level diplomatic consultations with Washington to coordinate responses to regional security challenges.
It should be noted that during the initial six weeks of the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran, the UAE faced significant security challenges. Reports indicate that during this period, over 530 ballistic missiles, dozens of cruise missiles, and 2,200 unmanned aerial vehicles were directed toward UAE territory.
