President Ilham Aliyev has stated that the South Caucasus is entering a new stage of development, emphasizing that relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia are transitioning toward cooperation. Speaking in an interview with Euronews in Davos on January 20, the head of state expressed that receiving the "Zayed Award for Human Fraternity" is a great honor and a recognition of efforts to establish peace in the Caucasus after more than thirty years of conflict and bloodshed.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the unique nature of the current regional situation. "We have been living in peace for five or six months. We are getting used to it. We have never lived in peace in our history of independence. It is a special feeling and, of course, a great opportunity," the President noted. He added that Azerbaijan has removed all restrictions on the transportation of goods to Armenia and has commenced the supply of essential commodities, specifically petroleum products, to the neighboring country.

The World Economic Forum in Davos provides a significant international stage for discussing regional stability and economic integration. President Ilham Aliyev’s remarks underscore Azerbaijan's commitment to transforming the regional landscape from one of confrontation to one of sustainable partnership. The "Zayed Award for Human Fraternity," named after the late founder of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, is a prestigious global prize that honors individuals dedicated to promoting peaceful coexistence and human solidarity.
