President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a one-on-one meeting with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, in Tbilisi on April 6.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of and prospects for bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia. The leaders emphasized the importance of high-level reciprocal visits in strengthening the strategic partnership and expanding economic, energy, and transport ties between the two neighboring nations.
Azerbaijan and Georgia maintain a robust strategic relationship characterized by large-scale regional projects, including the Southern Gas Corridor and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway. These initiatives not only enhance the economic integration of the South Caucasus but also play a critical role in the energy security of Europe. The meeting in Tbilisi serves as a continuation of the regular political dialogue aimed at ensuring regional stability and fostering further cooperation in the Caspian-Black Sea basin.
