Azerbaijan will host a major international event this year, the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), inviting global experts to discuss sustainable urban development. President Ilham Aliyev made the announcement during his speech at the opening ceremony of the XIII Global Baku Forum.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state extended a formal invitation to the members of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center (NGIC) to participate in the upcoming urban forum. President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of international cooperation in addressing the challenges of rapid urbanization and the implementation of the New Urban Agenda.
The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. Hosting WUF13 in Baku further solidifies Azerbaijan's position as a hub for high-level international dialogue, following its successful organization of various global summits and its commitment to modernizing urban infrastructure across the country, including the extensive reconstruction projects currently underway in the liberated territories of Garabagh and East Zangezur.
