President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to his Montenegrin counterpart, Jakov Milatović.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the message reads:
"Dear Mr. President,
On the occasion of July 13 – Statehood Day, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to you and the people of Montenegro on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan.
It is gratifying to see the strengthening of interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Montenegro, which are built on good traditions and based on mutual understanding and respect. The high level of our political ties creates a solid foundation for further expanding our cooperation across all sectors, particularly in economic and trade relations, energy, investment, tourism, and other areas.
I am confident that we will continue our joint efforts to strengthen relations and expand interaction between Azerbaijan and Montenegro in line with the interests of our friendly peoples.
On this festive day, I wish you good health, success in your endeavors, and the friendly people of Montenegro lasting peace and prosperity."
Azerbaijan and Montenegro have maintained diplomatic relations since 2008, with both nations actively seeking to deepen cooperation in the energy sector and tourism. The two countries have consistently supported each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity, fostering a partnership that continues to grow within the framework of bilateral agreements and international cooperation.
