President Ilham Aliyev has extended his congratulations to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state shared the message on his official "X" account.
"I sincerely congratulate Giorgia Meloni on becoming the longest-serving Prime Minister in the history of the Italian Republic. This historic achievement reflects her strong leadership, political determination, and the trust of the Italian people," President Ilham Aliyev stated.
The Azerbaijani leader further emphasized the bilateral relationship, noting: "I highly appreciate Prime Minister Meloni's personal role and valuable contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy. I am confident that our friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation will continue to deepen and expand for the well-being of our countries and peoples."
Italy remains one of Azerbaijan's most significant economic and political partners in Europe. The two nations maintain a robust strategic partnership, primarily anchored in the energy sector, with Italy serving as a major importer of Azerbaijani oil and gas.
