The world cannot exist without fossil fuels, President Ilham Aliyev stated during his address at the official opening ceremony of the 31st Baku Energy Forum.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state emphasized the global commitment to environmental protection, noting that everyone aspires to a healthier climate and a better living environment. However, he stressed the necessity of maintaining a pragmatic and realistic perspective when planning for future energy security.
"We must be very pragmatic and realistic, plan our future in terms of energy security, and also invest in renewable energy sources," President Ilham Aliyev added.
The Baku Energy Forum is a premier international event that brings together global energy leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss the evolving energy landscape. As Azerbaijan continues to position itself as a key energy partner for Europe and the wider region, the forum serves as a critical platform for balancing the country's traditional hydrocarbon exports with its ambitious strategy to develop green energy potential, particularly in the liberated Garabagh and East Zangezur economic regions.
