Prezident İlham Əliyev: Ukrayna ilə əməkdaşlığımızın çox güclü siyasi təməli var

President Ilham Aliyev has emphasized that the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine is built on a very strong political foundation, highlighting the high-level strategic dialogue between the two nations. Recalling his visit to Kyiv in January 2023, the head of state noted that ongoing exchanges with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy have consistently elevated bilateral relations to new heights.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during a joint press statement with the Ukrainian leader. "Azerbaijan and Ukraine mutually support, and will continue to support, each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity within all international organizations," the President stated, underlining the commitment to international law and the principles of national borders.

Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine have historically been characterized by a strategic partnership, particularly within the framework of international organizations such as the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development. Azerbaijan has consistently provided significant humanitarian aid to Ukraine, including energy equipment and medical supplies, while maintaining a principled stance on the inviolability of internationally recognized territories. This cooperation extends beyond political support into economic sectors, including energy security and infrastructure development, which remain key pillars of the bilateral agenda between Baku and Kyiv.
