President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to President of North Macedonia Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova.
"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports that the letter said:
“Dear Madam President,
On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of North Macedonia, I extend my sincerest congratulations to you and, through you, to all your people on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan.
It is gratifying that the interstate relations and partnership between Azerbaijan and North Macedonia, built on strong traditions, are being strengthened and enriched with new substance year by year.
Today, there are good opportunities to expand the scope of our partnership. I believe that, in line with the interests of our friendly peoples, we will continue our joint efforts to strengthen relations between Azerbaijan and North Macedonia and further expand our bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
On this significant day, I convey my best wishes to you and wish lasting peace and prosperity to your friendly people.”
North Macedonia gained independence from Yugoslavia in 1991. Azerbaijan and North Macedonia maintain diplomatic relations and cooperate through bilateral and multilateral platforms.
