President of the Hellenic Republic Konstantinos Tasulas has sent a congratulatory letter to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the country's national holiday.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the letter reads:
“Your Excellency,
I convey my most sincere congratulations to You and your people on the occasion of the national holiday of Azerbaijan, as well as my wishes for peace, progress, and prosperity.
Greece attaches special importance to the bilaterally developing relations with Azerbaijan, which have evolved into a multi-faceted partnership over the years. I am confident that we can further develop and strengthen our bilateral relations for the benefit of our peoples, with full respect for international law, principles of sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Your Excellency, I once again express my best wishes to You and ask You to accept my highest esteem.”
Azerbaijan and Greece maintain active diplomatic and economic relations, particularly in the energy sector, with Azerbaijan being a key supplier of natural gas to Greece and Southern Europe through the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP). The two nations established diplomatic relations in 1992, and bilateral cooperation continues to expand across various sectors, including trade, culture, and education.
