President Ilham Aliyev has signed a law approving the "Host Country Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Clean Energy Center of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO)".
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the agreement was officially signed on December 2, 2025, in Baku. The document establishes the legal framework and operational conditions for the center's activities within Azerbaijan, marking a significant step in regional energy cooperation.
The establishment of the ECO Clean Energy Center in Baku underscores Azerbaijan's growing role as a regional hub for renewable energy initiatives. The Economic Cooperation Organization, an intergovernmental regional organization involving ten nations, aims to promote sustainable economic development through infrastructure and energy integration. This center is expected to facilitate the transition to green energy across the ECO region by coordinating policy, technology transfer, and investment in sustainable power sources.
