German companies are actively operating in Azerbaijan, contributing significantly to the country's economic landscape. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that there are currently more than 200 companies with German capital operating within Azerbaijan. "I am confident that after today's discussions, their number will increase," the Azerbaijani leader stated, underscoring the potential for further bilateral cooperation.
Economic relations between Azerbaijan and Germany have historically been strong, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors. Germany remains one of Azerbaijan's key trading partners in the European Union. The involvement of German businesses in Azerbaijan spans various fields, including renewable energy projects, which align with Azerbaijan's strategic goal of becoming a green energy hub in the region. This ongoing partnership reflects the deepening political and economic dialogue between Baku and Berlin.
