Azerbaijan has officially supported the decision to hold the 8th European Political Community (EPC) summit in Armenia.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev announced this during a video address to the participants of the EPC summit currently being held in Yerevan. The head of state emphasized that Baku's consent to the venue reflects Azerbaijan's commitment to the regional peace agenda and its willingness to foster a constructive atmosphere in the South Caucasus.
The European Political Community is an intergovernmental forum for political and strategic discussions about the future of Europe, established in 2022 following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. By supporting the hosting of this high-level gathering in Armenia, Azerbaijan demonstrates a diplomatic gesture aimed at normalizing relations between the two neighboring states. This move follows a series of confidence-building measures between Baku and Yerevan as they continue negotiations toward a final peace treaty and the delimitation of state borders.
