In Azerbaijan, the chairman of the Management Board of the newly established National Cybersecurity Agency will be appointed by the Minister of Digital Development and Transport.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, this provision is stipulated in the charter of the National Cybersecurity Agency, which was created by a decree of President Ilham Aliyev.
It is emphasized that the general management and control of the Agency will be carried out by the Management Board. The Board consists of four members: the chairman, who is appointed and dismissed by the Minister of Digital Development and Transport, and three deputy chairmen.
In the event that the chairman of the Management Board is temporarily unavailable, one of the deputies designated by the chairman will assume their duties.
The establishment of the National Cybersecurity Agency marks a significant step in Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to strengthen its digital infrastructure and national security. As the country accelerates its digital transformation strategy, the agency is expected to play a crucial role in safeguarding critical information systems, mitigating cyber threats, and fostering a secure digital environment for both public and private sectors in line with international standards.
