Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has received the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Islamabad, Khazar Farhadov, in connection with the conclusion of his diplomatic mission. The meeting highlighted the deepening bilateral relations between the two nations.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the diplomat announced the conclusion of his tenure through a post on his official account on the X social media platform.
"It was a great honor for me to pay a farewell visit to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif. Our brotherly countries will continue to elevate their strategic partnership to even higher levels across all areas of cooperation," the diplomat wrote.
Azerbaijan and Pakistan maintain strong diplomatic ties rooted in shared cultural, historical, and political values. Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan's independence in 1991 and has consistently supported Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, particularly regarding the Garabagh region. The two nations frequently collaborate within international organizations, including the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and continue to expand economic and defense cooperation.
