The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Azerbaijan, Duncan Norman, has officially presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev. Following the ceremony, the ambassador expressed his commitment to further enhancing the strategic partnership, economic relations, and security cooperation between the two nations.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Ambassador Norman shared his sentiments regarding the event on his social media account.
"It was a great honor to present my credentials to President Ilham Aliyev today. I look forward to strengthening the strategic partnership, economic ties, and security cooperation between the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan," the ambassador noted.
It should be noted that President Ilham Aliyev received Duncan Norman on August 18 to accept his credentials. During the meeting, the parties discussed various aspects of Azerbaijan-UK relations, including strategic partnership, security, energy, and other key areas of mutual interest.
The United Kingdom remains one of the largest foreign investors in Azerbaijan, primarily through its significant involvement in the country's energy sector. The diplomatic relationship between Baku and London has historically focused on energy security, regional stability, and the expansion of trade ties, serving as a cornerstone for bilateral cooperation in the South Caucasus region.
